August 9, 2018 — Nearly 49-thousand children read 925,037 books during The Indianapolis Public Library's 2018 Summer Reading Program, "Everyday Superheroes." Embracing the theme of the program, children became superheroes of their own by donating 5,906 books to local foster children in the "Books for Youth" partnership with the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Department of Child Services, far exceeding the project's goal of 5,000 donated books.
August 2, 2018 — Adam Todd has been appointed as the new manager of the Nora Branch of The Indianapolis Public Library, 8625 Guilford Avenue. A 10-year IndyPL employee, Todd most recently served as manager of the Decatur Branch following stints at the Spades Park Branch, where he served as manager, and Central Library, where he served as a public services associate. "My goal is to continue the great service that patrons have come to enjoy at the Nora Branch," Todd said. He is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and received his Master's of Library Science at the University of Kentucky.
July 27, 2018 — Researchers, educators and alumni can now access nearly 2,500 archived items that depict the rich and illustrious history of Indianapolis Public Schools as part of The Indianapolis Public Library's Digital Indy collection found at www.digitalindy.org.
