April 8, 2011 — In celebration of the April 14 release of the book, Stacks: A History of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library written by S.L. Berry with Mary Ellen Gadski, local professional and amateur photographers are invited to take and submit photos of Indianapolis' downtown Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair Street, for a special exhibit at Central Library during June and July 2011.
April 1, 2011 — A new book that tells the story of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library's evolution from its origin in 1873 and its role in the educational and cultural life of Indianapolis will be unveiled on Thursday, April 14 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Central Library.

March 24, 2011 — A $165,000 grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust will provide for expansion of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library’s efforts to improve the reading and language development skills of young children up to five years old.
March 15, 2011 — Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Bob Woodward received the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library’s Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Award for Literature at the Library’s 2011 McFadden Memorial Lecture on Friday, March 11 at North Central High School.
March 10, 2011 — The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library earned over $2,700 in 2010 from its paper recycling efforts at 16 IMCPL locations.
March 8, 2011 — Approximately 6,600 titles supporting a wide range of patron interests will be added to the collection of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library as a result of a $100,000 grant from the Library Fund, a fund of The Indianapolis Foundation.
