February 8, 2012 — Individuals are encouraged to nominate their favorite Hoosier author for the 2012 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award, a program of The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation which recognizes the contributions of Indiana authors to the literary landscape in Indiana and across the nation. Nominations are being accepted through March 23, 2012.
February 6, 2012 — The entire community is invited to view the works of locally prominent African-American artists during the "Meet the Artists XXIV" exhibit February 3 through March 31 at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St. In celebration of the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis, this year's artistic theme is "A Post Super Bowl Extravaganza." Works representing a variety of artistic mediums will be presented by 15 local artists.
January 12, 2012 — For the 21st consecutive year, The Indianapolis Public Library has received the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
January 6, 2012 — Children and families are invited to gear up for the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis during an event filled with free football fun entitled, "Super Saturday! Get Your Game On," on Saturday, January 21 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair Street.
January 3, 2012 — The 14th director in The Indianapolis Public Library's illustrious history dating to 1873 has begun her tenure as the Library's Chief Executive Officer. Jackie Nytes succeeds Laura Bramble, who retired after 41 years in the library industry including the past four years serving as Library CEO.
