Nicole James, Manager of the College Avenue Branch of The Indianapolis Public Library, is visiting Cologne through September 8 during which she'll blog about her observations of service at the Cologne Public Library and her overall German experience. During her stay, James will share her 17-year Indy Library background with her Cologne colleagues, leading to an exchange and comparison of best practices and policies. A representative from the Cologne Library will visit Indianapolis in 2013 during the 25th anniversary of the City's Sister City relationship with Cologne.

Two Indy Library representatives will visit Hangzhou from October 21-November 18. Ann Ricciardelli, a Public Service Librarian at Central Library, and Sailan Liang, a Public Service Librarian at the Glendale Branch, also will blog about their Chinese experiences. The Indianapolis Public Library will host two representatives from the Hangzhou Library from September 5-21.

The Library's staff exchanges are part of the City of Indianapolis's Sister City relationships with both cities, which are intended to strengthen international partnerships and create opportunities that make Indianapolis a globally-recognized, inclusive City.

In addition to viewing the blogs of the Library ambassadors, visitors to the Library's website can access links to information about each city, its library and the Sister City program.
