Indy Library's Summer Reading Program Continues Through July 25!

July 6, 2015 — It's not too late for children of all ages and families to tune up their reading performance and pump up the volume for reading during The Indianapolis Public Library's 2015 Summer Reading Program, "Beatz & Bookz." Registration continues through July 25 at all IndyPL branch locations, Central Library and the Beech Grove Public Library.

June 30, 2015 — Indiana First Lady Karen Pence has completed a book and music exchange between The Indianapolis Public Library and the Hangzhou Public Library, which is located in Zhejiang Province, Indiana’s sister state.

Public Input Sought for East Washington Expansion and Renovation

June 29, 2015 — The public can help shape plans for the first major expansion in the storied history of the East Washington Branch of The Indianapolis Public Library during a series of public meetings beginning on Thursday, July 9 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the library branch located at 2822 E. Washington Street.

Historic Township High School Yearbooks Added to IndyPL Digital Collection

June 24, 2015 — The Indianapolis Public Library's online repository of historic community collections has been expanded to include yearbooks dating to the 1930’s from Ben Davis, North Central and Warren Central high schools. These are the first local township yearbooks that are part of an existing IndyPL collection of yearbooks from all 10 original IPS high schools.

Free Music Streaming Comes to the Indy Library!

June 19, 2015 — Library cardholders can stream music from a free online catalog of more than nine million songs and 28,000 music labels through The Indianapolis Public Library's web branch at www.indypl.org.

Library Foundation names new President and Major Gifts and Donor Liaison

May 13, 2015 — The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation has announced that Vice President Roberta Knickerbocker Jaggers will assume the role of Foundation President, and current President Danny R. Dean will transition to Major Gifts and Donor Liaison - effective January 1, 2016.
