December 20, 2016 — The Indianapolis Public Library has announced the appointment of Nichelle M. Hayes as Specialist to develop and lead the new Center for Black Literature and Culture at Central Library.
December 8, 2016 — The Indianapolis Public Library, Mayor Joe Hogsett and Indy Reads are encouraging individuals to spread the joy of reading by participating in the third year of Jingle Books, a community-wide project to provide free books for Indianapolis children during the holiday season.
November 25, 2016 — The entire community is invited to experience the many features of the newly-renovated Warren Branch of The Indianapolis Public Library during its grand reopening Open House on Saturday, December 10 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Warren Branch, 9701 E. 21st Street.
November 10, 2016 — Following their input at the first of a series of community meetings in early October, near northwest side citizens can view preliminary architectural plans for a new Indianapolis Public Library branch at 62nd Street and North Michigan Road on Wednesday, November 16 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Fay Biccard Glick Family Pavilion, 2990 W. 71st Street.
November 4, 2016 — Four authors with Indiana ties have been honored as recipients of the 2016 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award, a program of The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation that celebrates those whose works have influenced the literary landscape of Indiana and the nation.
November 2, 2016 — The Indianapolis Public Library and Metropolitan School District of Warren Township have completed the distribution of Indy Library cards to nearly 13,000 district students in grades 1 – 12.
