Indy Library Maintains AA+ Bond Rating From Fitch

October 6, 2016

Citing a history of solid operating performance, significant financial flexibility to withstand any period of revenue stress, and active management to align revenues and expenditures in the face of property tax caps, Fitch Ratings has affirmed a AA+ rating to The Indianapolis Public Library. The rating reflects Fitch’s belief that the Library’s financial outlook is stable, with prudently managed operations focused on cost management since Indiana’s circuit breaker legislation was passed in 2008.

The positive financial rating allows the Library to obtain a favorable interest rate on its general obligation bonds issued to pay for the Library's various capital projects.
