Adults who want to learn a versatile coding language are invited for help exploring Microsoft's Introductory C# course on Edx.org. This course will teach the C# language and the world of .NET programming. Receive help enrolling in the course, installing necessary software, or completing any of the assigned coding challenges. Go to http://bit.ly/2D8Ipiw to enroll in the EdX C# course, which is free if one doesn't sign up for the certificate. It offers the video lessons and hands-on coding assignment needed for the Code Café sessions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet to this class to be held in the Makerspace on the 1st Floor.

Google Drive is free and accessible from any device with an Internet connection. Learn to use Google’s free suite of products for creating, editing, and sharing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other types of files. By the end of this class, you should know how to edit and share documents and set up workgroup collaboration on Google Docs files, install browser extensions onto the Google Chrome Web browser, and use Google Drive to store personal files online. Before taking this class, to be held in the Computer Training Lab, you must be experienced using a mouse and keyboard and be able to get into your own Google Gmail account. If you do not have a gmail.com account, please arrive 30 minutes early to get help creating one.

View the works of prominent local African-American artists during this 30th anniversary of one of Indy's most celebrated cultural events. This year's exhibit will feature selections from 11 "Shades of Pearl" spotlighted artists from past Meet the Artists events who have gone on to greater achievements in the art world. The exhibit can be viewed throughout Central Library during regular Library hours. Meet the Artists XXX is presented by the Library's African-American History Committee in support of the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library. It is made possible by the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation, Dr. Michael R. Twyman Endowment Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.



Food & The Great War: Indianapolis in 1918

Visit the Indianapolis Special Collections Room on the 6th Floor of Central Library to view an exhibit that focuses on food propaganda in 1918. The exhibit highlights a section of the Library's World War One poster collection and points patrons to such Library resources as Digital Indy, the Historic Cookbook Collection, the 5th Floor Microfilm, Hathi Trust, and the National World War I Museum and Memorial. This exhibit is available for viewing during regular Central Library hours.
