Food & The Great War: Indianapolis in 1918

Visit the Indianapolis Special Collections Room on the 6th Floor of Central Library to view an exhibit that focuses on food propaganda in 1918. The exhibit highlights a section of the Library's World War One poster collection and points patrons to such Library resources as Digital Indy, the Historic Cookbook Collection, the 5th Floor Microfilm, Hathi Trust, and the National World War I Museum and Memorial. This exhibit is available for viewing during regular Central Library hours.

During this overview class you will see how to: create, edit, and share files in Web-based Microsoft Word and Excel; upload and download files, and create your own OneDrive account. Before taking this class, you must be experienced in using the mouse, keyboard, and Internet. This class will be held in the Computer Training Lab.

Patrons are invited to learn how read, watch and listen on a PC, tablet or phone, as well as search and download materials from the Library's extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks and digital music. Patrons can drop in anytime during this two-hour visit by the Library's traveling eBook Tinker Station, which is staffed by an eReader expert who can answer questions about the equipment and collection. The Station provides reliable and unbiased information about this growing technology. The Tinker Helpline is also available to call for answers to your questions at 317-275-4500. This service is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
This program will be held in the Atrium.
