Visit the Nina Mason Pulliam Indianapolis Special Collections Room for an exhibit on letterpress "tools of the trade." The collection by printmaker and collector Dave Peat from "Pressing On: The Letterpress Film" includes specimen books, small toy presses, and Indianapolis printing artifacts dating to the 1800s. This program is made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities and by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Learn how to read, watch and listen on a PC, tablet or phone, as well as search and download materials from the Library's extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows and music. Patrons can drop in anytime during this two-hour visit by the Library's traveling eBook Tinker Station, which is staffed by an eReader expert who can answer questions about the equipment and collection. The Station provides reliable and unbiased information about this growing technology. The Tinker Helpline is also available to call for answers to your questions at 317-275-4500. This service is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Learn how to manage your computer files, improve computer performance, and protect your computer from unwanted files and software. By the end of this class you should be able to copy, move, and delete files; change or remove unwanted computer programs, and use Windows Explorer, Disc Cleanup, Disc Defragmenter, Task Manager, Add/Remove Programs, and System Configuration in Microsoft Windows 7. Before taking this class you should be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard. This class will be held in the Computer Training Lab.

Minecrafters ages 7 and up are invited to use the Learning Curve’s laptops to mine and build in Central Land, a virtual world hosted on the Curve’s private Minecraft server. Join in a new group build each week, or test your skills in fun Hunger Games-style challenges! This program will be held in the Arena.



December Celebration: Kwanzaa

Individuals of all ages and families are invited to drop in for a variety of free activities in celebration of Kwanzaa. There will be spoken word performances, African dancers and drummers, a Kinara (candle) lighting ceremony, Queen Mother procession, musical acts, activities for children, cultural foods and assorted vendors.
This program will be held in the Center for Black Literature & Culture, the Atrium & the Learning Curve at Central Library.
