As part of the "One State/One Story: Frankenstein" initiative designed by Indiana Humanities, adults, teens and families are invited to enjoy Ball State University's Department of Theatre and Dance presentation of its original production of "Frankenstein." Adapted from the novel by Mary Shelley, this performance combines music and movement to tell the story of Victor Frankenstein and his quest to reanimate the dead. This initiative has been made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and a grant from The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate, and is presented in partnership with the Indiana State Library and Indiana Center for the Book. This program may not be suitable for younger children because of violence and frightening situations.
This program will be held in Central Library's Clowes Auditorium.

Día de los Muertos Sugar Skull Workshop

School-age children, teens and adults are invited to celebrate the Day of the Dead, a colorful Mexican festival that celebrates the lives of departed loved ones. In most villages, beautiful altars (ofrendas) are made in each home. They are decorated with candles, flowers, foods, folk art skeletons, and sugar skulls (calaveras). These items are intended to help the living remember the departed and to welcome the spirits back for their annual visit. This program will include a discussion of Día de los Muertos traditions and the making of a sugar skull to take home. All supplies are included for this workshop, which is presented by Global Gifts.
Registration for this program, to be held in Central Library's Makerspace, is required by visiting eventbrite.com.

One day, she unlocks a new level in the game. She must defeat her greatest foe...but how can she beat it? How can she even start?

Little learners ages birth - 5 years old and their families are invited to come together in the Baby Zone of the Learning Curve for stories, songs and rhymes. All are welcome to stay after to play!

With various types of robots and games available each week, participants can try something new or dive deeper into a favorite. Children under the age of 7 need to be accompanied by an adult. This program will be held in the Arena.
