Author Robert Wilkins: Long Road to Hard Truth

Individuals of all ages are invited as author Judge Robert L. Wilkins discusses his new book, "Long Road to Hard Truth: The 100-Year Mission to Create the National Museum of African American History and Culture." Wilkins was a member of the presidential commission that planned the museum. His book tells the story of the quest that began in 1916 for the institution, inspired as a reaction to the slander of the film, "Birth of a Nation," and the segregation and discrimination against African Americans. A book signing will follow the discussion. Seating is limited to 90 attendees. This program will be held in the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library.
