Seasons Readings
December 1 - January 7 pick up free book gifts for kids at The Library! Look for Season's Readings bins at all our locations and then choose children's books to take home for free. (Free gift wrapping stations will be provided at most sites.) You can also donate new or gently used books...or do both! Learn more about Seasons Readings.

Indy Library Store Book Sale December 2-6
Discover affordable book gifts at Indy Library Store! Find recent bestsellers, classics, DVDs and Blu-rays, music CDs, LPs, audiobooks, and more—for adults, kids, and teens! Indy Library Store is located in the Library Services Center at 2450 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis. Sales take place nine times a year and include Friend’s Day sales, Half-Price Day, and Bag Day. Browse our collection of holiday movies! You can check out DVDs or stream movies straight to your device with your IndyPL library card. Central Library Cricut Design Space for Beginners - Winter Designs Schedule & Register Winter can be a great time to be inspired for the holiday season. Whether you’re new to Cricut Design Space or an experienced crafter, come learn how to use Cricut Design Space and check out some NEW updates that will provide some festive inspiration to your crafting this season!

Holiday Concerts at the Library
Schedule
Individuals of all ages are invited for a chamber ensemble musical performance of favorite holiday classics at a variety of our locations. Or join us on Tuesday, December 20 at College Avenue from 6-7 p.m. for a Christmas concert featuring The Brown Grass Band, a family band from Indianapolis sharing their favorite traditional and contemporary Christmas tunes.

Healthy Holiday Cooking

In our plant-based cooking video series learn how to prepare plant-based dishes to make as dinner staples, holiday features, or healthy snacks when cravings hit like a Vegan Cheeze Sauce recipe. Join members of the Indianapolis Ballet to listen to the story of The Nutcracker and then get moving as the dancers lead a movement class

Ballet Storytime & Mini Ballet Lesson
Thursday, December 15 at Franklin Road from 10:30-11 a.m. Register
Join us for a special ballet storytime with Ballet INitiative. We will share some of The Nutcracker story (based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's work) and a very short ballet lesson.

Ukrainian Storytime St. Nicholas Day Celebration
Saturday, December 17 at Nora from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Join the Ukrainian Society of Indiana for a bilingual storytime kickoff to celebrate St. Nicholas Day. Children and their families are invited for stories and songs celebrating the people and language of Ukraine! Candy, coffee, and tea will be provided! No registration is required.

STEAM Saturday - The Gingerbread Man
Saturday, December 17 at Lawrence from 10:30 a.m-2:30 p.m.
Run, run, as fast as you can to the library! Work on building a bridge the gingerbread man can use to safely cross the water. Also complete a scavenger hunt and some other fun gingerbread man activities. No registration is required.

Family Storytime: How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Monday, December 19 at Eagle from 4:30-6 p.m. Register
Families with children are invited to this special storytime to read a holiday classic! Come enjoy a story, a snack, a craft, and a "special" guest visitor!

Meet a Reindeer - with Silly Safaris
Monday, December 19 at West Perry from 6-7 p.m.
Tuesday, December 20 at Martindale-Brightwood from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Learn about the Sami, Indigenous reindeer herders from the Lapland region of Scandinavia and meet a reindeer. Geared for ages 5 & up and families. No registration is required.

Family Storytime: The Polar Express

Families with children are invited to this special storytime to read a holiday classic! Come enjoy a story, a snack, and a craft!

Cozy Craft Night for Teens
Tuesday, December 20 at West Perry from 5-6:30 p.m. Register
Come craft, play games, or enjoy snacks and a movie! For ages 12 and up.

Noon Year's Eve at Lawrence
Saturday, December 31 at Lawrence from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Come ring in the new year with us- at noon! We'll celebrate with activities, crafts, and games, plus a storytime and special balloon drop at noon. No registration is required.
