IndyPL System Maintenance Jan. 17-31: What You Need to Know

From January 17-31, The Indianapolis Public Library will be performing system maintenance. During this time, IndyPL locations will maintain regular hours and programming, however patrons will not be able to log into “My Account” in the library’s online catalog. Some other services will also not be available.

This system maintenance will provide long-term database infrastructure that will allow IndyPL to best serve the Indianapolis community.

Maintenance will occur in three steps.


Step 1: January 17, 18, 19

Impacted services during this period:

  • Online Catalog You will be able to browse the online catalog. You will not be able to log in or access "my account," but your information and lists will not be lost.
  • Requests (holds) You will be able to place requests in person or over the phone, but you will not be able to place requests online. Holds may take longer to reach their destination. You will still receive a hold notification when an item arrives for pickup.
  • Renewals You will be able to renew in person or over the phone, but you will not be able to renew materials online.
  • Fines You will be able to pay fines in person. You will not be able to pay fines online. Items will not be due nor accrue fines from and including January 17 - 31.
  • e-Books, e-audiobooks and streaming To check out from Overdrive, Hoopla, Kanopy, etc., you will need to use the service's website or app. These links can be found on our Download and Stream page. You will not be able to log in to check these items out directly from the online catalog.

All other services should continue as usual during this time.



Step 2: January 20 - 22

Impacted services during this period:

  • Online Catalog You will be able to browse the online catalog. You will not be able to log in or access "my account," but your information and lists will not be lost.
  • Requests (holds) No requests online, in person, or over the phone. Existing holds placed in our online catalog will not be lost.
  • Renewals No renewals online, in person, or over the phone.
  • Library Cards No library cards can be issued or renewed in person or online.
  • Fines No fines will be collected or waived in person or online. Items will not be due nor accrue fines from and including January 17 - 31.
  • Public Computers Public computers will be available, but all patrons will need to stop at the desk for a guest pass. You will not be able to reserve a public computer with a library card.
  • e-Books, e-audiobooks and streaming To check out from Overdrive, Hoopla, Kanopy, etc., you will need to use each service's website or app. These links can be found on our Download and Stream page. You will not be able to log in to check these items out directly from the online catalog.
  • Research Databases You will be able to use some databases, but only from inside our locations.

All other services should continue as usual during this time.


Step 3: January 23 - 31
