Fearless Female Daredevils and Adventurers

03/19/2019

The Flying Girl is a biography of Aída de Acosta. She was the woman to fly a powered aircraft, and she even did it before the Wright brothers! This page includes biographies of several other women who broke ground being the first. They dared and they went on adventures and became role models for persistence and determination.

"Stories, both real and imagined, show what girls can do. The stories of women’s lives, and the choices they made, encourage girls to think larger and bolder, and give boys and men a fuller understanding of the female experience."

~National Women's History Project
