The Library is proud to partner with local organizations to team up for community health including COVID-19 vaccine clinics, free gun locks, and more.
Partner: Marion County Sheriff’s Office
Free, easy to use gun locks are available at all our locations. Gun locks secure a gun and keep it from firing, ensuring safety in homes with curious children. Anyone who desires a free gun lock need only visit their nearest Indianapolis Public Library branch and ask the staff for one. It will be provided at no cost, with no questions asked.
Partner: Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Center for Urban Health
Residents can screen their homes and yards for lead by picking up free Lead Screening Kits at all 17 Seed Library locations plus the Martindale-Brightwood Branch. Simply drop by the seed library closest to your home, pick up a Kit, collect samples, then return your Kit with those samples to the library. Learn more about this program.
