Board of Trustees Meeting Schedule

The Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, with the exception of May and December. Those meetings will be held on the third Monday.

Meetings are open to the public. Locations are listed below, and are subject to change.

Library Board of Trustees Committees

The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees Committees is to provide governance and policy reviews in the areas of diversity, policy, and human resources, facilities, and finance.

2020 Meetings of Library Board of Trustees Committees

Unless otherwise noted, all joint meetings of Library Board Committees take place at the Library Services Center, 2450 North Meridian Street, Room 226, Indianapolis, IN, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Joint Committee Meetings have been canceled as of April through the rest of 2020. Beginning in July, The Library will hold individual committee meetings via online meeting, and live-stream these. Meetings dates/times will be added below as they are scheduled, and recordings will be posted as well.

  • July 15 - At 11:30am, the Finance Committee will meet. A live-stream link will be shared HERE prior to the meeting start.
Diversity, Policy, and Human Resources Committee

The Diversity, Policy, and Human Resources Committee reviews Library policies to assure compliance with accepted operating procedures and employment practices. This committee also provides oversight in the establishment of a diverse and competent staff at all levels throughout the Library system.

Facilities Committee

The Facilities Committee reviews plans and proposals related to the construction, maintenance, and security of Library facilities and properties, furnishings, vehicles, collection delivery system, computers, and technology infrastructure. This committee also provides oversight of facilities-related contractual services.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee works to determine the scope of appropriations for Library programs and services, facility maintenance, and new construction. This committee provides input in the creation of the Library’s yearly budget and tax rate, as well as oversight in the appropriate administration of public tax monies.
