Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
Celebrate diversity with some family friendly stories, songs, and dance. Everyone is welcome! This storytime is American Sign Language (ASL) bilingual, with interpreters provided!
Join us on Saturday afternoons and match wits and skill with this Chess Club, meeting for 43 years at College Avenue Branch Library! All ages and skill levels are welcome. This group meets in the Fish Room.
Meeting every other month, this book club group will begin in April and discuss food prepared from cookbooks checked out. Sessions cover soups and breads, desserts, salads, and entrees.
Hi, I’m Chase Martin, Branch Manager for College Avenue. My favorite books are Get to the Heart: My Story by Barbara Mandrell and anything by David Sedaris.
