Sunday Hours, Closings & Service Interruptions
Stay informed about the scheduled dates our locations will be closed, or close early, this year as well as any last minute closures for inclement weather or building maintenance.

- All locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31 and remain closed on Thursday, January 1 for New Year's.
- All locations will be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

2026 Closings
New Year's 2026
All locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31 and remain closed Thursday, January 1 for New Year's.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
All locations will be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Easter
All locations will be closed on Sunday, April 5 for Easter.
Memorial Day
All locations will be closed Saturday, May 23-25 for Memorial Day.
Juneteenth
All locations will be closed Friday, June 19 for Juneteenth except the InfoZone, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Independence Day
All locations will be closed Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day.
Feast of Lanterns (Spades Park Branch ONLY is closed.)
The Spades Park Branch will be closed Saturday, August 22 due to the annual Feast of Lanterns community event.
Labor Day
All locations will be closed Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.
Circle City Classic Parade (Road Closures around Central Library ONLY.)
Due to the Circle City Classic Parade, some streets around Central Library may be temporarily closed Saturday, September 26. Central Library is open.
Indigenous Peoples' Day
All locations will be closed Monday, October 12 for Indigenous Peoples' Day.
Halloween Festival (Irvington Branch ONLY is closed.)
Irvington Branch will be closed Saturday, October 24 due to the Halloween Festival.
Staff Day
All locations will be closed Monday, November 2 for staff training.
Monumental Marathon (Central Library ONLY is closed.)
Central Library will be closed Saturday, November 7 due to the Monumental Marathon.
Veteran's Day Parade (Road Closures around Central Library ONLY.)
Due to the Veterans Day Parade, some streets around Central Library may be temporarily closed Tuesday, November 11. Central Library is open.
Thanksgiving
All locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25 and remain closed on Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving.
Christmas
All locations will be closed December 24, 25, and 26 for Christmas.
New Year's 2027
All locations will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 31 and remain closed on Friday, January 1 for New Year's.
