INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Public Library is excited to continue its partnership with WFYI Public Media to celebrate Día del Niño at Be My Neighbor Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Perry Branch.

The free family event, inspired by PBS Kids’ award-winning Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood television series, will include a variety of activities, crafts, and games for community members of all ages.

The activities will start with a sensory hour for young children at 9 a.m. Afterward, Grammy Award winning duo 123 Andrés will perform music from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bilingual storytimes in both English and Spanish will be offered every hour.

Children of all backgrounds will have many opportunities to write, color, read, sing and play together. They will also have the opportunity to meet and take their photo with special guest, Daniel Tiger!

Families are encouraged to bring diapers to donate to the Indiana Diaper Bank.

Translated to Children’s Day, Día del Niño was first celebrated in Mexico to promote the significant role that kids play in society and the shared responsibility to foster their well-being and upbringing.

“We are excited to welcome families of all cultures and backgrounds to The Indianapolis Public Library for Día del Niño at Be My Neighbor Day,” said CEO Gregory A. Hill, Sr. “This event, put together as a result of our fantastic partnership with WFYI, further underscores the Library's commitment to providing a free and welcoming space for patrons of all ages.”

The community celebration is made possible through the work of The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, and other community partners including: Indiana 529, Indiana Dental Association, St. Joseph Hearing + Speech, and Indy Eleven. Done in partnership with WFYI, the event is also supported by PNC Grow Up Great and Fred Rogers Production.
