Indianapolis Star Names The Indianapolis Public Library as a Winner of the Central Indiana Top Workplaces 2026 Award

The Indianapolis Public Library has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2026 honor by the Indianapolis Star. This ranking is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

“This designation tells a story about who we are as a library system,” said Gregory A. Hill, Sr., MSL, MSM, CEO, The Indianapolis Public Library. “It reflects a culture where people feel supported to do their best work. It speaks to the everyday actions—big and small—that create an environment where people can thrive together.

“It also represents important progress toward one of our four core Strategic Plan objectives: to be a Workplace of Choice,” Hill continued. “This recognition shows that we are not only aspiring to that objective but actively building the kind of organization that is an in-demand place to work.”

In addition, the organizers bestowed a special Spirit Award to The Indianapolis Public Library in recognition for exceptional attendance and engagement at the awards ceremony that the Indianapolis Star hosted on May 6, 2026.
