DISCOVER! the world around you and earn prizes through reading and activities this summer!
Read any book, graphic novel, magazine, e-book, or newspaper you want! What you read is up to you and includes books you borrow from a friend, a library, or books you already own.
We know reading to children is important, so thank you grown-ups! Grown-ups are not eligible to participate in the children’s summer reading program, but we encourage you to check out the Adult Summer Reading Program!
There are three ways to register and track reading time - pick which one is most convenient for you! Participants over 13, or caregivers can create accounts to track minutes and activities online.

Participants over 13, or caregivers can create accounts to track minutes and activities. Need help? Our staff can help get you registered and track progress online or in the app.
Just visit or call your closest IndyPL branch to register with a staff member. Pick up a paper tracking sheet at any IndyPL location or print one in English or Spanish.

Set a goal! How much time do you want to read this summer?
Read! Track the time you have spent reading or have listened to someone reading to you in Beanstack or on your paper tracker. Older children who read aloud to younger children may count those minutes.
Earn Prizes! Prizes are earned when you have read for 1 hour, 5 hours, 10 hours, 15 hours, and 20 hours, or have completed seven of the DISCOVER activities. Prizes can be redeemed at any Indianapolis Public Library location. Just go to the Summer Reading Program desk and show your Beanstack tracker or your paper tracking sheet to show your progress.
Minutes are not transferable between individuals and a total of no more than 20 hours will be awarded to any participant.
Prizes may be redeemed between June 7 and August 7, 2021.
Please note that prize quantities are limited and may be subject to change.
We will send out an email newsletter each week from June 7 - August 2 that will feature:
