Kids Summer Reading Program

Kids Summer Reading Program

Read books. Do fun activities. Win prizes!

Register Online:

Visit or simply search “Beanstack” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and follow the instructions. (Note: Although it would have been clever...the name of the app is not BeanSTALK.) Here is a video tutorial to help you get started.

If you prefer to not register online, give your local branch a call and we will register you over the phone.

How It Works:

Set a goal for how much time you want to read this summer.

Read! Keep track of the time you have spent reading or have listened to someone reading to you.

Log your progress in Beanstack or call your local branch to report your progress!

Earn prizes when you have read for 1 hour, 5 hours and 10 hours. See the prize list.

Redeem your prizes by calling your local branch.

Prize quantities are limited. Prizes may be redeemed through August 8, 2020.

What You Need to Know:

The program runs from June 1 - August 1, 2020. Prizes may be redeemed through August 8, 2020.

Books from home, library books, e-books, magazines, graphic novels, and audiobooks all count.

Minutes are not transferable between individuals.

A total of no more than 10 hours will be awarded to any participant.

Children who are unable to read may log minutes and earn prizes by listening to parents, siblings or caregivers who read aloud to them.

Older children who read to younger children may also log those minutes.

Adults do not receive credit for reading to children but can register for our Adult Summer Reading Program.

If you would like to register a group for the Summer Reading Program, contact a branch for additional information!

How to Earn Drawing Entries

Complete summer reading activities to earn prize drawing entries.

Earn one drawing entry for each activity completed.

You may enter a different drawing for each activity or do the same drawing for every activity you complete.

If you are using Beanstack, record the activities you have completed there and and choose which drawing you would like to enter.

If you are not using Beanstack, you may report your activities and select your drawings by calling your branch.

The last day for entries for activity drawings is August 1, 2020.

All participants in the “Imagine Your Story” Summer Reading Program will be entered in the drawing for a $529 College Choice CD 529 Savings Plan.
